The Great Invitation

Every great decision in life has a back story.  There’s something at work, driving the major decisions we make.  In church life, the back story of someone’s decision to follow Christ begins with an invitation.  People are often unaware of their need for Christ.  To this person, a simple invitation can change everything.

We are coming in one of the greatest seasons of the year, when it comes to inviting people to church.  At Easter time, people are more open to coming to church, even if it is not their regular habit.

So it’s time for us to mobilize, and begin to extend the Great Invitation to people in our world.

1.  Think differently about people you want to invite.  Don’t assume they are uninterested in going to church; assume they want to follow Christ, they just haven’t been invited yet. This perspective will completely change the way you approach people and invite them to church.

2.  Use your voice.  You have a voice, and people want to hear it.  Consider who in your world might be ready for an invitation to church.  Make a calculated move, and invite someone.

3.  Social media is a powerful tool.  Before people accept an invitation to church, they may want to check things out for themselves.  This is where social media comes in to play.  Using your platform online, or even the invite tools on our church’s website, can give people a way to check this thing out before they accept an invitation.

Don’t delay in your invitations.  Start today!  And don’t be discouraged if you don’t get the initial answer you are looking for.  You never know when someone might be ready to accept the greatest invitation they will ever receive.

First TC Round Table // Forward Together!

Great leaders take time to gather around the table of input and innovation.

We had a great time hanging with a small group of Pastors from around the NW talking fresh ideas and fundamentals to advance the Church forward!

A morning like this allows each of us to be free to share the real deal of where we’re at so we can get straight to the details of growing our churches.

But unfortunately not all leaders value the role of opening up to input into their decisions. When we isolate ourselves we do a couple things:

  1. We shut out needed insight that can propel us forward or save us from unneeded pain!
  2. We shut out fresh innovative ideas. (& if we don’t innovate we die)

When I reflect on the Round Table this simple truth from God’s word comes to mind:

TWO ARE BETTER THAN ONE

* Future dates for Round Table & One Day experiences will be announced later this year.
