Photo A Day Challenge

If you’re anywhere on social networking, you may have seen some January “photo challenges” hitting the web… It’s a fun and interactive way to network, and to showcase your creativity; it creates community and starts conversation.

Well, we wanted to join in the Photo A Day fun by highlighting our 8 Champions Centre values. It’s time to get creative and spread the word in a fun and fresh new way. There’s only a few simple steps:

  • Each day we will post the value of the day on Facebook, Twitter and our Blog.
  • Post a photo for the value that day. Be creative. Find ways that express the value in a new and exciting way. For example, what does commitment look like to you in your day to day life? How would you capture a life-giving spirit in a photograph? Show us how you pursue wisdom on a daily basis… you get the idea!
  • On Twitter or Instagram, tag your photo with #PhotoADay and #CCValues.
  • On Facebook, tag Champions Centre!
  • Include a caption or a explanation—and make sure you do ALL seven days!

SUNDAY: Commitment - We value commitment through membership that is demonstrated in regular attendance, generous giving and consistent dedicated involvement.

MONDAY: Excellence - We value excellence in life and ministry as the only attitude that honors God.

TUESDAY: Honor - We value honor as the core that all of our other values pour out of and we encourage everyone to honor up, honor down, and honor all around with freedom and confidence.

WEDNESDAY: Leadership - We value the equipping of people to lead, succeed and increase their influence within our community.

THURSDAY: Life - We value a Church that exudes a life-giving spirit through passionate Praise and a vibrant, positive and exciting atmosphere.

FRIDAY: Relevance - We value ministry that is socially significant, age relevant and adapting to the interests and needs of each specific group.

SATURDAY: Team - We value teamwork that promotes a shared purpose and is expressed by people of diverse social, economical and cultural status connected as the family of God.

SUNDAY: Wisdom - We value the pursuit of wisdom through the Word of God that directs us to a principle-focused, balanced and successful life.

We are declaring at Champions Centre, 2012 will be a year of Greater Things. We’ve experienced some great things, but God always has greater things in mind for the future. There are 4 specific areas that contribute to where we are going as a church: 1. Big Vision It’s a great day to be a part of the Church. Big things are happening all over the world among the church. The top 100 largest congregations in the US together total over 1 million people. Churches are creating Bible apps for phones, they are fighting Human Trafficking and producing chart topping worship albums. Let’s embrace the idea that we are a church with big vision. William Carey said, “Expect great things from God, and attempt great things for God.” 2. Small Groups We are encouraging people to do life together. Church is not just a place to attend, it’s a community to belong to. The real vision of the house happens in small groups. It looks like people meeting together, learning and growing together. This year groups will be taking on community initiatives together to show love to our great city. 3. Generous Giving Being a giver is a fundamental part of being a Christian. People who not generous are missing out on Gods best for their lives! The Bible says, “Give and it shall be given to you” (Luke 6:38). There’s so much good that we can do by giving. When we give our churches are healthier, stronger, more influential and effective. Let’s be rich minded in our giving this year. 4. Champion Living One of the great things about the church is being around people who are overcoming. God is glorified when we declare His goodness, confess God’s greatness when we are going through trials, when when we overcome our failures. Continue to press on through adversity. Believe God’s best for your life this year. It’s so inspiring to be around people who are winning! Let’s believe together that this is going to be our best year as individuals and as a church. 4. Champion Living

One of the great things about the church is being around people who are overcoming. God is glorified when we declare His goodness, confess God’s greatness when we are going through trials, when when we overcome our failures. Continue to press on through adversity. Believe God’s best for your life this year.

It’s so inspiring to be around people who are winning! Let’s believe together that this is going to be our best year as individuals and as a church. Greater things are ahead in 2012!

As we move forward into 2012, we can’t help but look back at what God did in 2011 at Champions Centre. Take a look at some of the victories we experienced at Champions Centre this past year. 

LIVE BLOG: Greater Things Weekend—Pastor Kevin

It’s great to have Pastor Kevin home! This weekend was a “locker room talk,” geared toward our church family and those that call Champions Centre home. We’re lifting our eyes, and believing God for big things this fall. If you couldn’t be in town this weekend, we’ll be offering this message for free download and On Demand.

Acts 18:9-10 includes this statement from the Lord to Paul where he said, “Do not be afraid, keep speaking…for I have many people in this city.” This is a prophetic statement about the city of Corinth where Paul was ministering. God was not speaking about the current state of the city, because there we actually few believers. He was speaking of greater things to come.

God is a God of progress and forward motion. He has bigger things for you in the days ahead, and if you’re open to it, he’ll place vision in your heart.

Our church is full of people who have been radically touched by the grace of God, and have seen God do incredible things. But even though God has done great things in our church, he still has GREATER things for our future!

We’re going to measure progress over the next month (September 17-October 16), and believe God for greater things in our church. We’re believing for record salvations, baptisms, new members and small group participation.

A CALL TO ACTION FROM PASTOR:

1. Consider your own follow. Are you a fully devoted Christ follower, or are you stuck in good intentions?

2. Consider who is in your life, that needs you to persist for their follow. Who needs you to see greater things for them that they cannot see for themselves?

3. Raise the level of your expectations. Pray for and declare “greater things” in your life, and in the lives of the people around you.
